Silkbush Mountain Vineyards is a high-altitude wine estate nestled at the foot of the Sybasberg in South Africa’s Breedekloof Valley. First registered in 1794 and reimagined in 2000 through a transcontinental partnership, Silkbush is home to 140 hectares of vines grown between 450 and 730 meters above sea level. The estate’s unique terroir — decomposed shale soils speckled with granite and quartz, combined with north-westerly slopes — allows for the cultivation of 14 distinct grape varieties. Silkbush is dedicated to crafting terroir-specific wines with bold character and refreshing vibrancy, offering a true taste of altitude and attitude.
